ABOUT ME...
My story and journey so far
I’m Maddie, in for the long haul wife of Rog, being married for 23 years and proud to say Mum of 3 boys, Joe - 22 years old & twins, Sam & Tom - 19 years old.
​
I am a counsellor/psychotherapist and have been for over a decade, working in a few organisations, to include the NHS for four and half years but running my own private practice since 2012 in my local town of Bolsover in Derbyshire where I also live.
​
I set up a project online at the end of the summer of 2017 called Ssassi. Ssassi being an acronym for Superheroines - sexual abuse survivors smashing it! This forms a Facebook page and is also present on Instagram as a way of sharing stories, posts, information, encouragement, acknowledgement and inspiration around the subject of childhood sexual abuse.

This led onto my decision to write my book called Standing Strong in Vulnerability which I have literally just completed and will be available to buy on Amazon on the 31st August.
​
This is both scary and exciting - but ultimately I know is meant to be a part of my journey to help, support and encourage as many survivors of abuse as possible, to reassure them that they too can heal their wounds, grow through the pain of their experiences and become who they were always intended to be.
